Biography

MARKO LAĐUŠIĆ (1967) is a painter, sculptor and multimedia performance artist. Lađušić graduated in 1995 from the Faculty of Applied Arts in Belgrade University at the Department of Applied Sculpture.

MARKO LAĐUŠIĆ (1967) is a painter, sculptor and multimedia performance artist.

Lađušic graduated in 1995 from the Faculty of Applied Arts in Belgrade University at the Department of Applied Sculpture.

He worked as an Art Director of several institutions such as Cultural Centre District Belgrade, Art club Cube, Kombank Art Hall in Belgrade, and is also an author and manager of numerous international projects including International Multimedia Art Colony in Tršic, BELEF (Belgrade Summer Festival), Terratory, Black Box presented at the MIXER festival in Belgrade, Open studio project held in Florence, multimedia exhibition The Missing. Likewise, he was a participant of the International Symposium of Sculpture Terra in Kikinda, Sculptor Symposium Ada in Belgrade etc.

Collaboration with Serbian actress Sonja Savic on the visual artistic projects (Supernaut, Superreality, A Murder at the Edge of the City) represents important segment of his artistic work. On those projects he participated in realization and performance.

His jewelry collection was part of the fashion show of well-known designer Roksanda Ilincic , that was presented at London Fashion Week (2004/2005), and also designed jewelry for other Serbian fashion designers.

To this day, he presented his work at 17 solo exhibitions and took part in more than 90 group exhibitions across Europe.

Marko received various recognitions and awards for sculptures and drawings (2012: Acknowledgment of the Belgrade Drama Theater for the Terratory sculpture installation; 1998: The second award for the best drawing at the XIX Belgrade Drawing Competition; 1995: Purchase prize for the best drawing at the XVI Belgrade Drawing Competition; 1995: The second award for the Best Fountains Competition in the Botanical Garden in Belgrade; 1990: Award EX TEMPORE in Vodnjan – Republic of Croatia).

The sculptures and the paintings by Marko Laušic are included in permanent exhibitions in public spaces and the art collections of the following institutions:
Terra Museum (Kikinda), Macura Museum (Novi Banovci), Hotel Meriot (Belgrade), Meander Gallery (Apatin), International Multimedia Colony of Tršic, Vuk Karadžic Culture Center (Loznica), Rifat Štetic Gallery (Brcko, Bosnia and Hercegovina), Srebrenik Culture Center (Bosnia and Hercegovina); his work also belong to numerous private art collections in Serbia and abroad.

Marko works as a full professor at the Faculty of Applied Arts in Belgrade, where he lives, and he is lecturer at the Faculty of Technical Sciences in Novi Sad as well.
Currently, he is also leading international project within the European Capitals of Culture 2020 in collaboration with Civic Museum of Rijeka.

He is a member of ULUS (Association of Fine Artists of Serbia) since 1995.
